Marvin Deflated
In which Marvin realizes that working at Enzo's Christian Books and Videos has actually sapped his joy. Not all that glitters is gold and in this case, there isn't even proper payment for services rendered. Marvin sounds frustrated and could use some encouragement.

Sorry to hear you've hit a bit of a bump in the road with the (lack of) job pay and the sore back.
I admire your independent spirit in turning away unemployment... the only thing I'd point out is that unemployment pay is more like Social Security retirement income than charity -- you and your employer havce paid into the pot, and you get to take some back out if you need it. Something to keep in mind, maybe, especially if your back makes it harder to work.
Most of all, take care of yourself, OK?
Sorry about the back, Mr. Marvin. Rest up and don't be afraid to keep looking and switch jobs. Jesus looked after his followers basic needs first and everything else later (see the three little fishes and five loaves of bread story).
Though I'm convinced God will find a way to use you for his purpose no matter where you go, have heart and find something that can pay your bills. You can only commit to someone else (work or otherwise) once you have taken care of the commitment to yourself.
Take care of you and I'll keep praying for you ...

When things get a little bit discouraging, I often think about Philippians 1:6 -
There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.
